More recently, in August 2010, the university announced that it had been granted permission to change its name to the University of West London, to reflect a focusing of operations onto its Ealing and Brentford campuses – the new name was formally adopted in April 2011. Its Ealing site features state-of-the-art student facilities including a refurbished Students’ Union, music studios, an auditorium, a library, restaurants and cafes and the Brentford site of its west London campus is home to three of the university’s eight academic schools. Both sites lie just 1.5 miles apart and are linked by a free shuttle bus for all students. The area is safe, multicultural with good transport - close to the centre of London and Heathrow Airport.

The University’s Berkshire Institute for Health, in Reading, is in walking distance of the main railway and bus stations, with access to car parking and within easy reach of the town’s ‘park and ride’ bus stops.

The University of West London recorded the best results of any university in London in the annual National Student Survey (NSS) in 2016, with students’ responses showing it to be the best provider of its kind in the capital for student satisfaction. At this time there were 100% overall satisfaction rates for nine courses across the University’s eight schools, ranging from Midwifery to Business Studies and Music Technology to Hospitality Management.
